February Collective Haul

A round-up of my February buys!

I didn't do as much shopping in February as I usually do monthly, I'm currently saving up for a blackberry phone so I've been sadly limiting my spending. Hopefully it will be worth it in the end!:)

Cosmetic Purchases

L'Oreal Paris Lumi Magique Primer (£9.99) - I've been noticing recently my make up hasn't been staying as well and I look terrible when I come home from school, so I thought a good solution might be a primer to help my foundation and concealer last that little bit longer. I was drawn to this one as it claims to 'illuminate the skin', I'm a massive fan of the glowing and dewy skin look so I thought this primer would be my best bet. I've only used it for the first time today but so far I like it! Blends in easily, does brighten my skin up a fair bit and has a very smooth texture.

Gosh Velvet Touch Lipstick in 145 Shocking Coral (£6.49) - This lipstick gets me so excited for summer! It's a beautiful coral with strong undertones of red, perfect for me as I don't really suit strong orange corals. It's fairly moisturising and long lasting, and a reasonable price for such amazing pigmentation.

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Vintage Pink (£6.29) - I think that this is my favourite out of all my cosmetic purchases in February. It's a beautiful pinky purple lipstick, very unique, I think it would be a hard colour to dupe. The 'moisture renew' part of the name is so spot on, one of the most moisturising lipsticks I've ever used! It tends to only leave a slight stain after eating and or drinking, however, I don't mind as it's one of those lip products you can just easily and quickly swipe back on.

Beauty UK Lip Vinyl in Pure Pacha (£2.99) - A beautiful bright fuchsia, it is very intensely pigmented and so can be a little bit tricky to apply. However, at £2.99 I'd definitely say it's a bargain. I think the sponge tip applicator can make application a bit difficult and so I would say a lip brush would make life much easier. It isn't particularly moisturising nor particularly drying. It lasted a good amount of time throughout eating and drinking.

Beauty UK Lip Lust in Date Night (£2.99) - For me this was the most disappointing purchase. It barely had any colour pigmentation and on the lips it's practically just clear lipgloss with tacky glitter particles. I'm not too cut up about it as the price is very cheap but I'm kicking myself for not realising that the 'Lip Lust' range is full of sparkles and glitter, not my style at all. I'll definitely just be sticking to the 'Lip Vinyl' range from now on.

Top Picks Of 2011

A look back at my favourite products in 2011!

It's nearly a month into 2012 but I've seen this tag floating around blogger and youtube and I wanted to give it a go myself!

The Selection :)

Revlon Lipstick in 'Wine Not' - £7.49

As a big fan of dark vampy lipsticks I was on the hunt for a perfect deep dark berry red for fall/winter. Then this beauty fell into my lap. It looks great applied heavily (although not for the faint hearted) or blotted down (which is my everyday approach). The only downside is that it can be slightly drying after a while but as I usually pair it with the Sleek Pout Polish in 'Perfect Plum' this isn't really a problem for me.

Sleek Pout Polish in 'Perfect Plum' - £4.30

This is my HG lip product. It is moisturising, has brilliant colour pay-off, can be built up or toned down, is perfect for fall/winter and looks amazing against my pale skin. These pout polishes are an absolute bargain and can be found at Superdrug, I have 3 more of them but this colour is undoubtedly the most flattering for me.

Sleek Blush in 'Flushed' - £4.30

This blush is such a HG for me, I've had it for over 6 months and use it almost every day and yet look at the amount still left! I don't think I'll ever hit pan on this. The name is perfect for it, it really does give a 'flushed' just in from the cold effect, so natural and pretty. It has slight shimmer in it, not disco ball at all. Once again another bargain from sleek, amazing.

NARS Bronzer in 'Laguna' - £24.00

This is a fairly recent purchase which I'm so happy I discovered. Being very pale (the lightest shade in every foundation) I have found it hard to find a bronzer that looks natural and not orange on me. Enter Laguna; it is the perfect glowing not at all orange solution. It has a bronze undertone which looks great dusted on my face. Although the price tag is pretty hefty I would definitely repurchase.

Bourjois Volume Clubbing Mascara in 'Ultra Black' - £7.99

One of my best finds of 2011 definitely. This mascara is mega volumizing, it builds the lashes up an  unbelievable amount. On top of that it adds amazing length as well. The only bad point is it can be quite tricky to remove, but the results are so good I won't be replacing it any time soon.

Vichy Dermablend Corrective Foundation in 'Opal' - £15.50

I don't actually use this as a foundation but instead as a concealer. I first saw this in Lisa Elridge's  'Acne covering make up' video, although I don't have acne I was looking for a solution to cover some stubborn hormonal spots that had risen. This is absolutely crazy, it completely vanishes spots and leaves a smooth surface. The price tag is a bit more expensive than typical drugstore brands but I highly recommend this product.

Revlon Creme Gloss in 'Fiercely Fuchsia' - £1 (from Poundland)

This is my perfect item to use when I'm looking to do my make up quickly and just want a quick healthy perky glow. I blend this out on my lips and then on my cheeks and it gives me the most amazing pick up. I found this stocked at poundland which is such a bargain and bought 3 back ups. I am so glad I discovered this product.

17 Eyebrow Shaper in 'Natural Brown' - Around £2 or £3

It is my opinion that everybody should fill in their eyebrows. I think it just completes a look and can shapes the face to make it much more flattering. This is my personal favourite to use, it matches the colour of my eyebrows well and I find pencil easier to use than powder. I've never had any problems with it moving about my face and I often get compliments on my eyebrows. The cheap price tag is a bonus too!

L-R : Sleek Pout Polish, Sleek Blush, Revlon Gloss and Revlon Lipstick

That's the end of my 2011 favourites!
For anybody wondering my nail polish is Collection 2000 'Show Off'.

A Hopeful Beginning

A big hello to whoever you are reading this (if anybody is at all!)

This is my blog - Riot Girl. With little hearts around it to demonstrate that I am not quite so much of a rioter that I don't enjoy girly decorations :)

My name is Channing and I am 15! I live in Belfast, Northern Ireland which is fine for the moment but I am aiming it not to be for the long run.

I wasn't sure whether I wanted to make this a beauty and fashion blog, two things which largely consume my time or a blog about life; my aspirations, personal thoughts and feelings ect ect. I just ended up being indecisive and I am now planning to blog about both! #rebellion

This is me. As you can see I am very tall, 5.9!

I hope that to you - reader (who is hopefully somebody other than my mum or sister!) - I have made a good first impression. Enough so for you to want to continue you on with me and my blog xox Thank you!
